Yenagoa, August 25, 2025 — The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, ESV Moses Teibowei, has commended the steady progress of the ongoing Yenagoa–Oporoma Road project, following a detailed inspection of the site.

Joined by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Raymond Angaye, and the Director of Civil Engineering, Engr. Apurumelala Cliff-Eribo, the Commissioner was briefed by representatives of the project contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
The inspection confirmed that sand filling operations have successfully reached Oporoma, with only a narrow canal now separating the road from the heart of the community—a major milestone in the project’s timeline.
Commissioner Teibowei attributed this achievement to the unwavering commitment of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri, whose leadership continues to drive transformative infrastructure development across Bayelsa State.
Expressing optimism, the Commissioner stated that by September 2025, the project is expected to record a historic breakthrough, enabling auxiliary-enabled vehicles to access Oporoma directly—bringing long-awaited connectivity and economic potential to the region.
