Home » The Newly Constructed NLC/TUC Building

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) headquarters is an impressive, modern, double-winged, double-annexed one-storey building designed to serve as a dedicated office space for the activities of the two trade union organizations. The annexes are mirror images of each other, with one exclusively for the NLC and the other for the TUC. The facility is thoughtfully constructed with the following features:

Ground Floor:

  1. A spacious reception area with a visitor’s toilet and staircase leading to the first floor.
  2. A large foyer with:
  • Two single office spaces, each sharing a restroom.
  • Four large shared office spaces, including a store area and dedicated toilet.
  • A large atrium-style office.
  • A back wing housing a large conference hall, a single office space with a dedicated toilet, and six general restrooms for conference attendees.

First Floor:

  1. An expansive office for the Chairman of the trade union organization, overlooking the atrium-style office and featuring a private store area and restroom.
  2. Three large shared office spaces.
  3. A single office for the Chairman’s support staff.
  4. A dedicated storage area.
  5. External restrooms for staff.
  6. A spacious common lobby.

Built to modern architectural standards and finished with high-quality materials, this facility not only meets functional office requirements but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the surrounding area. The NLC/TUC House stands as a central hub for all trade union activities in the state, symbolizing the commitment to organized labor and their shared goals.
